The ACCA Professional Diploma in Sustainability (ProDipSust) is a comprehensive qualification designed primarily for professional accountants and auditors seeking to deepen their expertise in sustainability and integrate it into their strategic planning, reporting, and assurance work.
It aims to provide an integrated understanding of sustainability across four core areas:
- Sustainability, Regulatory Frameworks and Ethics: Covering the concept of sustainability, global frameworks, and the ethical responsibilities of a sustainability professional.
- Sustainable Strategic Planning, Decision-Making and Measurement: Focuses on aligning sustainability goals with business strategy, governance, risk, and performance measurement.
- Sustainability Reporting: Teaches how to prepare and analyze sustainability reports, understand the interaction between different reporting frameworks, and the impact of sustainability on financial statements.

The Diploma in Sustainability consists of four courses, which are also available as individual Certificates.
Candidates have two options:
– Study the four individual Certificates separately, then pass a final overarching exam for the Diploma.
– Approach the Diploma as a single, integrated program (four courses plus a revision module).
Syllabus & Exam Structure
The 3-hour 15-minute computer-based exam is an integrated case study with a 50% pass mark. It comprises three compulsory tasks based on information exhibits:
Task 1: Focuses on Syllabus Area B requirements.
Task 2: Focuses on Syllabus Area C requirements.
Task 3: Focuses on Syllabus Area D requirements.
Each task is worth 30-35 marks and contains a mix of computational and discursive requirements.
Syllabus Area A frameworks are foundational knowledge, but the ethics component (10 marks total) will be specifically tested, split across any two of the three tasks.
